Wigan Policy and procedure

Pressure Ulcer Policy

The Pressure Ulcer Policy provides guidance for health, social care, residential, domiciliary, and extra care services on the prevention, identification, reporting, and management of pressure ulcers.

The policy aims to ensure that organisations:

  1. Recognise and respond appropriately when a pressure ulcer is identified during the course of care
  2. Report pressure damage in line with safeguarding procedures where neglect or poor care may be a factor
  3. Implement preventative measures to reduce the risk of pressure ulcers developing in people receiving care

You can find further information and guidance in the pressure ulcer policy on the Think Family Safeguarding Service page (external link).
