Pride of Adult Safeguarding Awards

About the Awards

Wigan Safeguarding Adults Board recognise that working together with our communities and helping people live safer and happier lives is key to improving outcomes for our residents.

In line with Progress with Unity we have created The Pride of Adult Safeguarding Awards. These awards recognise individuals or teams who have achieved exceptional safeguarding outcomes, where they have gone the extra mile to help people feel safer, more valued and happier.

There are six annual awards and they have been aligned with the six key principles that underpin all adult safeguarding work. In addition to this, we are pleased to also recognise work undertaken on a more regular basis with a Special Recognition Award.

The Award categories are:

  • Empowerment
  • Prevention
  • Proportionality
  • Protection
  • Partnership
  • Accountability
  • Special Recognition

Anyone can submit a nomination and you can nominate a person or team who works in the borough. It may be a community group, a volunteer, a staff member or organisation, who you think deserves an award for their outstanding efforts.

You can find out more about the awards categories in our Pride of Adult Safeguarding Awards information pack.
